Boxer Dewey Bozella Arthur Ashe Award winner 2011 ESPYs - ESPN (glad he got recognition)

Boxer Dewey Bozella Arthur Ashe Award winner 2011 ESPYs - ESPN
They cast him as an award winner in the title of this article, but is it an honor, or a mere consolation prize? Either way it seems insignificant when compared with the torment this man endured. A crime he never committed, serving time that wasn't his, in a society that never cared; this man was wronged by the penal system all  Americans are taught to trust and by laws that all Americans are taught to obey. Dewey Bozella was a victim of a system that constrained, and forced him into the shadows of American sociey. Lawyers, witnesses, and cops involved with this case, sold the jury on a bill of goods that never existed; they treated this talented athlete (with a troubled past) as they have treated many low income individuals with hopes of transcending their socio-economic standings. He was not a "thug" or murderer, he was a boxer with the heart of a champion, and the potential to make millions. Instead, what he got was a 20+ year sentence, and has just recently received justice! Please click the link to watch the video biography of his life. Tune into to ESPY's to watch him, as he receives the Ashe award.
